Germany -> Bratislava, Slovakia -> Budapest, Hungary -> Vienna, Austria -> Zagreb, Croatia -> Dubrovnik, Croatia -> Rome, Italy
It's been a long time that I updates on travel. Can I continue where I left off? This is actually like a travel diary for me also since I didn't jot down any in other place. The last time where I last wrote is I'm at the last stop for our journey, which is Rome.
On day 2, we are off to another very close country, the Vatican City.
As early as we were to arrive there, it was very crowded with tourist already queued in front of the entrance. Though, last time my hubby went there, it's more crowded that this. However, it took less than one hour to get inside, I think.
Pic: Entrance for tourists, noted the long queue. To Vatican cathedral dan Pope's crypts which we forgo. And inside Vatican is... breathless. Here is where the money is...
As the usual with cathedrals, it hosts lots of religious sculptures, murals, altars and even dead popes. The different is, it is much grandeur, much wealth (splashes of gold everywhere) and much more beautiful.
Pic: This one is a dead pope. Usually, they put in underground in the crypts. Not sure why some of them are not in crypts.
Pic: Something different. This is a mosaic murals. You can't see it at one glance. Only if you really study it, you will see that it's from small mosaic almost like a puzzle. Then, off to lunch, just outside of the entrance. Sandwich and drinks. Expansive here.
Then, we are off to Vatican museo (museum).
They are so many arts here. Worth taking a guide or even better a tour guide rather than that headphone thingy. Than, they will guide you to important and interesting art such as done by Da Vinci.
Pic: This is a significant and famous art. But, I forget the name. The ascension? The pictures told stories of Jesus being taken to heaven.
Pic: The courtyard in the middle of the museum. The eye that sees it all?So, enjoy the next pictures of some of the beautiful murals in here.

All this walk actually leads to a special room, if you didn't know. It's Sistine Chapel! And it is breathless, if you can ignore the tourists and the whisper. No pictures from me as it is not allowed. Sistine Chapel is famous for it's ceiling murals done by Michelangelo, Raphael, Bernini and Sandro Botticelli. It 3D like and very beautiful. To enjoy it, you must walk from the door in and stands in the middle of the room and look up. It tells stories in the bible from Old testament, I think.
The most touching picture (pun intended) is this: The creation of Adam by Michelangelo taken from Wikipedia.

And, that's the last section. Way to finish of the walk. Then, a cup of coffee and we just walk around town.

Pic: This man is really talented. By using spray paint and some stuff, he can make beautiful pictures which you'll never guess from the start. He got some videos in youtube that you can google if you like. Then, walking futher to Fontana de Trevi and it is a heck enormous fountain. Do Romans never learn to make things small?
Pic: This one I don't understand. Why people lepaking at the fountain? Like watching a show or race or something?

Off to dinner. We been having a bad luck with food in Rome and this is no different. Not awful but not so good service either. After that, back to our "kontena" room to sleep.
